Terms of Service — Lanka Assist

1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading or using LankaAssist (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Service Description

LankaAssist provides a directory of public emergency contact numbers, tools to contact and share information with other users, and a community information portal. The App does not provide professional medical, legal, or emergency services itself.

3. User Responsibilities

  • You agree to use the App lawfully and only for permitted purposes.
  • You are responsible for ensuring your saved contacts are accurate.
  • In emergency situations, call official emergency services directly. The App is a convenience tool and not a substitute for emergency responders.

4. Content and Community Portal

  • Users may post non-sensitive information publicly (e.g., road closures, power outages). LankaAssist moderates posts and may remove or correct inaccurate or harmful content.
  • Prohibited content: threats, sexual content, personal data published without consent, illegal activities, hate speech, or disinformation.

5. Permissions and Data

  • The App may request access to Contacts and Location to enable QuickDial and Emergency Share. Access is only with your permission and only used for the stated functionality. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Intellectual Property

  • All rights in the App, branding, and content are owned by Diyawanna or licensed to Diyawanna. You may not copy or redistribute the App except as permitted.

7. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimer

  • The App is provided "as is." Diyawanna does not guarantee the availability, timeliness, or accuracy of third-party emergency services.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Diyawanna disclaims all liability for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the App.
  • We are not responsible for the response times or actions of emergency services you contact through the App.

8. Termination

  • We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.

9. Modifications to Terms

  • We may change these Terms. We will notify users via the App or email. Continued use after changes means acceptance.

10. Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
